The installation of Google and Play Store services has also been simplified with MIUI 12.5 as well. In contrast to the past, the latest version of Xiaomi's UI already includes the Google framework. Thus, it is no longer necessary to use the classic installer from the Xiaomi app store, but a much faster method. To do this, go to "Settings / Account & Sync", click on "Basic Google services" and enable the toggle. Going back, click on "Add account" and you will see the word "Google".
When you have entered your login data, the Google Play Store will appear in MIUI 12.5 and you can download all the apps you need. Google, Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, Photos, Home, Maps, etc. Your first access to the app may result in a message telling you that the app will not work until you enable Google Play Services. To get rid of this message, simply click "Enable".
Sadly, there is a small list of Xiaomi smartphones that will remain blocked. These are the models that do not have ROM Global and EEA and do not feature Snapdragon 8xx. Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition, Mi 8 SE, Mi 6X, Redmi K30, K30 5G, K30i, 10X and 10X Pro, to name a few. In their case, the only way to get Google services is to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, and flash an alternative ROM.
