Ghostwire Tokyo is a gripping, dark, and very unusual third-person fantasy horror game in which you travel to Tokyo in the midst of mass disappearance.
The plot of the game focuses on the events that take place in modern Tokyo. The story begins with people disappearing out of nowhere. Only clothing and personal belongings were left behind - the bodies simply vanished without a trace. Some people were ignored by the phenomenon and survived. What happened to them? It is actually hidden by the developers, and the exhibition only talked about the main mechanics and features. 'Ghostwire: Tokyo' is a computer game that offers players a first-person experience. Various clairvoyant and paranormal abilities are available to the player to conquer Tokyo's phantoms and spirits. Shinichiro Hara described the battle as "karate meets sorcery", in which the player character uses hand developments sparked by Kuji-Kiri's hand motion to cast spells. If a foe loses a great deal of its well-being, its center is exposed and the player can use takedown moves to destroy it, slaughtering its soul.
There are absolutely creepy elements to this game, but it isn't a survival-horror title like The Evil Within. You fight against powerful spirits using your own supernatural abilities in this first-person action game. You must strategize differently for every fight because each spirit has different strengths and weaknesses.
We know a few other tidbits, as three types of spirits have been revealed: Amewarashi, Shiromuku, and Kuchisake. Additionally, the game will support 3D Audio, which will enable more detailed audio feedback in-game.
Story
A massive disaster causes 99% of the population to disappear without warning or explanation in Ghostwire: Tokyo, leaving only clothes behind in a Rapture-like event. The main character remains as a mysterious, evil force appears in the city that may be responsible for the disappearances. Using your "spectral" powers, you need to find out what's going on and stop the darkness.
Spirits aren't the only newcomers on the streets. A masked group called the Visitors wears Hannya masks. They play a mysterious role in the story.
