RESPIRELAX + LIVE BETTER WITH STRESS

The RespiRelax + application, created in 2012 by Thermes d'Allevard, allows you to find calm and relaxation in as little as a few minutes. In the evolution we are offering you today, we have taken into account all of the requests that users have made since 2012. 

Dr. David O'Hare, an expert in the field and author of numerous books on the subject, has worked on and developed them for a long time. There is the famous "365-day guide to cardiac coherence" and "Lose weight thanks to cardiac coherence".

In spite of the complexity of the proposed changes, the essence of Respirelax + remains a free, efficient application with particularly neat aesthetics and a very simple user interface.

Now that you have this new version, you can:

Incorporate the usual use of the application, namely a breathing guide that brings you to the state of cardiac coherence as you breathe 5 seconds / 5 seconds (5/5, which is 6 complete cycles per minute) with the possibility of enhancing or reducing the energizing or relaxing effects (slightly increasing or reducing the inspiration or expiration phases).

Due to the addition of music that follows the rhythm 5/5, you can practice with your eyes closed. The original music was composed by Pascal Gravante (1) (only in balance mode).


Using the "training" function, beginners can easily and gradually reach a 5/5 rhythm over 10 minutes.

Among experts, it is now possible to adjust the inspiration time and expiration time according to the physiological data of the user, in particular the 5.5/5.5 rhythm which seems to provide the best results.

As a preventive measure, you can do this exercise three times a day; before a stressful event (public speaking, important decisions, etc. ); when you feel stressed or irritable; before falling asleep. It is necessary to start with a few minutes at a 5/5 rhythm, then switch to a 3/3 rhythm in order to induce sleep in the latter case.

The RespiRelax + settings should be adjusted according to the number of breaths per minute (by default 6), the desired effect (balance, relaxation, or dynamics), and the duration of the exercise (not less than 3 minutes).

Launch the RespiRelax + app and synchronize your breathing on the bubble that rises (I breathe in) and falls (I breathe out). For those who wish to coordinate their exercise with the ascent and descent of the diaphragm, the opposite is also possible (I breathe in during the descent and I breathe out during the ascent).

  • Regardless, you should breathe quietly, without forcing. Having become comfortable, it is simply a matter of focusing your attention on the center of your chest, which is the region of the heart.
  • Imagining your breath entering and leaving your heart at the solar plexus next. Exhalations and inhalations remain stuck, very gently, on top of the bubble.
