We were delighted by how much our fans enjoyed redesigning subway maps from all around the world in Mini Metro, so for our next game, we wanted to explore how we could apply the minimalist approach to other common transportation challenges. As cities grow and traffic congestion increases, planning for the road network becomes increasingly complex and multi-faceted. Gameplay
The player in Mini Motorways must draw a road network that works. As new destinations (such as shops or companies) and houses are built, the city grows continuously. There is a different color for each goal and house. From the houses, the cars pick something up with the same color as the targets. Points are awarded for successfully picking up and returning a single item. When it becomes impossible to collect all the items at a destination, the game ends.
A road network has a variety of elements available to the player. In addition to the distinctive art style, the music continues to complement it perfectly. The music is completely minimalist, with simple chords droning softly in the background and seemingly random bleeps and bloops chiming away pleasantly as you plan your city.
