The RPCS3 emulator for Android OS and debugger for Windows and Linux (also for iOS and macOS) are open-source, multi-platform tools from Sony. They were developed by programmers DH and Hykem. Initially hosted on Google Code, the project was eventually moved to GitHub later on in its development.
RPC3's first successful boots consisted mainly of homebrew projects and hardware tests. The emulator was publicly released in June of 2012 and has garnered considerable attention from both the open-source community and PlayStation enthusiasts. In today's RPCS3, the two lead developers are Nekotekina and kd-11, along with a flourishing team of GitHub contributors.
