The Happyhills Homicide is a macabre 2D stealth horror game inspired by 80s slasher movies, in which a clown commits gruesome murders.
A serial killer dressed up as a clown murders his victims in inventive and brutal ways in The Happyhills Homicide. Every level of the game requires you to kill your target by finding murder weapons, breaking into buildings, and doling out punishment to your unsuspecting victim. Your kills depend on the element of surprise, so be careful not to be discovered.
Playing through The Happyhills Homicide will take you about an hour, and it's an excellent game with excellent pixel art animation, unsettling music, and dark humor. There are lots of little nods to classic horror movies, and the gameplay varies from level to level. There are also some spectacular (and gory) kills in the game, and they have been cleverly designed. Highly recommended.
Story
Spoilers ahead! With the new chapters, we get a better understanding of the motives behind the Happyhills clown killer. It's straight out of a horror movie. The game even contains references to many horror movies, including The Ring.
It turns out that the killer is John Wade, the janitor at a high school called Westpine High. The staff and students treated him horribly, even though he was pretty creepy. Madison is also having a strange obsession with one of the students. Since she was the only one from the school who didn't treat him badly, he might have meant to spare her.
The football team students tried to mess with him by lighting a fire. As a result, the school burned down, and the janitor thought they were trying to kill him. In order to exact revenge against everyone at Westpine, he decided to become the killer.
